Our Mission

The mission of the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents is to be the unrelenting advocate for independent insurance agents and to fulfill member needs while serving the public’s best interest.

Become a Member

Being an AIIA/IIABA member, there will be someone to actively pursue your needs as an independent agent by keeping you informed within the insurance industry, provide you with opportunities for education and professional development, to advocate on your behalf and to provide you with the resources to give your agency a competitive advantage.

The RLI PUP program provides the best protection for the insured and their family. The policy may be written either in the name of an individual, in the names of both spouses, or in the names of two unrelated individuals as long as they reside in the same household. The insureds spouse and members of the insureds household who are relatives or are in the insureds care and custody are insured under policy.

YOUNG AGENTS REPORT

I am very honored to lead the Alabama Young Agents this year. I am thrilled with all of the fresh ideas and changes that are coming, and I cannot wait for you to see all that Alabama Young Agents has to offer. This year, I aim to increase awareness across the state for our Young Agent events through emails, social media, and outreach. The subcommittees are more collaborative, and the regional directors are utilized in gathering ideas for what each area of the state wants.

It is also my goal to have Alabama’s Young Agents program recognized at the national level for what we do. At the 2024 IIABA Young Agents Leadership Institute in Tennessee, we aim to win at least one award category: Political Involvement, Membership Development, Community Service, Young Agents Meeting, or Outstanding Young Agent Committee of the Year.

In order to do that, the subcommittee chairs are diligently working to make us stand out. Blake West is the Legislative Chair and is completely redesigning the Legislative conference in February 2024. You won’t want to miss that! Elizabeth Roth is the Membership Chair and she is putting together outreach programs throughout the state. This year, we created a new chair position, Community Service, with Chasity Maxwell leading the charge. She is planning three outreach programs! Look out for opportunities to give back starting in January 2024. Coley Boone, the Immediate Past Young Agent Chair, is the Excalibur Clay Shoot Chair. She is leading the fundraising event that provides scholarships to students interested in the insurance industry. Kingston Hall is the EPIC Conference Chair. The July 2024 conference is themed “Recipe for Success”. There will be family friendly activities for the kids going on as the adults learn how to poise themselves for success. And last, but definitely not least, is Amber Compton, the Social Media Chair. She is the glue that helps promote the events all year long. You may have already seen the collaboration she had with Elizabeth Roth in launching “Featured Friday” which highlights one Young Agent from across Alabama each month.

The leadership of the Young Agents is in good hands. This team is incredibly energetic and creative. They are ambitious and are focused on moving the association forward. They are open to new ideas and want your input for how we can change and incorporate fresh new ideas. If you want to join the excitement, share your thoughts and ideas, and begin taking a leadership role in the industry, please reach out to us. Email Michelle McKee and let her know what committee you want to connect with.
